If you aren't near Extreme Hills, the next two methods for glowstone are Nether (scary but doable if you're lucky) or going to the Blaze Spawners in the sky which have obsidian trees with glowstone. If a mob is 1-hit, their pack does not aggro you so use this to your advantage when it comes to early food (ive come to thoroughly enjoy a minor chicken farm early game) For zombies, try to find a spawner in either a rogue-like dungeon or some spawners above ground.Ĭhickens get 1-hit naturally by stone swords, pigs if you crit them. Start completing the first few quests ASAP as mobs get really fucking hard after your first week or so in-game, assuming you don't have many gear upgrades. If you are near Extreme Hills, plunder the artifact towers for glowstone, a bed, and possibilities of gg artifacts.
Unless you are near Extreme Hills, get some food and go underground ASAP. Here's some things I've learned along the way though: The early game is absolutely brutal so don't be surprised if you have to restart your world a dozen or so times before getting one going. Otherwise, I've played the pack quite a few times (never completed admittedly but I've come quite close twice).
